Our Spouse’s Weaknesses.

We really love each other! However, as you know, individual weaknesses affect our marriage. Sometimes I feel stuck because my spouse is unable to move. I’ve also heard friends share this same tension in their families. They were stuck just like my husband and I are stuck. It is actually painful. It’s painful to watch in friends and it’s a painful circumstance to be in as well.

Prayer: Dear God, How do we deal with these weaknesses that affect living our lives together?

God’s Word to Us: By covering over them with love. By providing them with a wheelchair in that area. They may not be able to walk on their own but you can place them in a wheelchair and push them through. That is grace.

My Heart’s Cry during these hard times is to remember grace. We need to show love in these difficult moments of tension, disappointment and frustration. Think: What kind of a wheelchair can I provide? Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is pray for our spouse. God can heal. He can also be the wheelchair to move them past difficult areas.

I saw an example of this at church. During worship a man sang very loudly and a little off tune. During the next song his wife joined in singing with him. They sounded great together! They complimented each other so well I was simply amazed. Her voice was covering over his voice, but I think it made him a better singer too.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?” Ecclesiastes 4:9

Let’s not be afraid to come close to our spouse, even in their weaknesses. Remember, we have weaknesses of our own and don’t want to be alone in them. Pray for them, encourage them, hire help or even do the task with them. What kind of a wheelchair of grace can I provide for my spouse to help in this particular situation?

Be love!

May God bless you both.

Kim
