My Words

I’m taking care of the family you have entrusted to me. It’s no easy task, Lord!  But thank you for them. Thank you I have something so special to care for: my family. It is normal for my 8 year old daughter and I to be together all day. I’ve noticed that near the end of the day and especially the end of our homeschool week, I’m pushing her to stay on task so we can get done quicker. I feel badly because my tone is sometimes impatient. Please help me mind my words today and be patient and encouraging in my tone.  Let my words be what you would say.

God’s word to us: I read your thoughts and I know your heart.  Your words tend to slide downward when you are overly tired.  Take time to rest so you can be all you can be in words and in deeds.  My sabbath rest is for you now.  Take it.  You need it.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

My heart’s cry for you today is to remember when we are tired it affects how we treat others.  We want what this verse says concerning our words being pleasing to Him. But it’s so easy at the end of the week to be short with those we love the most. Ask yourself, “How can I make time for more rest?”  It’s important.  It helps us and it helps our loved ones too. God says: “My sabbath rest is for you now. Take it. You need it.”

Like if you find your words slide when your overly tired. Comment on how you are going to take time to rest.
