Stop Worrying

This morning as I watched the sunrise, I was all bundled up in a cozy blanket. I warmed my hands with my cup of coffee, which had just the right amount of cream in it. On the outside, everything seemed right with my world. But on the inside, my mind started to wander. Sadly, it went to all those things I have been unable to resolve in my life and in my world. My perfect moment, probably the quietest moment in my day, was hijacked by these negative thoughts. I was so disappointed.

Prayer: Lord, Heal my mind. Please don’t let it be tortured by these negative thoughts. Give me peace. Show me Your thoughts on these worries that keep churning round and round in my head during the quiet moments of the day.

God’s Word to Us: So much of what you worry about will never happen. Stop worrying. Stop. Trust Me and trust My plan. I’ve got this all in My control. You are blessed. My eyes are on you and on your timeline. Lay this all in My hands. Not for My sake, I’m already working everything for good, but for your sake. Do this for your mind’s sake and your soul’s sake. Refuse to carry this burden any longer.

Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you.
Psalm 55:22

My Heart’s Cry for you is for us to believe by faith God is watching over the details of your life. He cares very much about you. He’s got this, but are you willing to lay your worry in His hands so you are not carrying the burden any longer? Are you willing to retrain your mind? When it goes to those places you normally worry about, do you have a quick way out?

I have a couple of suggestions you can use to get out of the worry mindset.

These are a few things I have done. This morning I chose to worship God by thanking Him for the good things He has done recently. It felt like those points of worship were poking holes in a blanket of worry that was trying to cover over me.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Romans 8:28

May God bless your mind with peace this week.
