The time has come for America to wake up! Sometimes I don’t like to hear statements like this, especially from others who seem judgmental. In fact, it makes me upset because I like to see the good in people. Do you lean towards grace or judgement? I’ve had to reckon with the fact that vast amounts of people in our nation are walking away from God.
This was the problem with Israel. You can read about it in the Old Testament of the Bible. You know how it is. New generations don’t have what the older ones have in way of faith and it keeps deteriorating through the years and decades. Family lines becoming more sinful. More disorder, more dysfunction. This is how it has been in vast amounts of families. See why there needs to be a change here? Something has to disrupt this destructive chain of events. God must see repentance. I’m not sure He has seen repentance in America in a long time.
It seems like God has been bringing down the walls that have always protected America. Our land is left nude and susceptible to embarrassment. We cannot protect what is happening. God will guard individuals. Those who remain in Him will always be covered by the Most High both on earth and in heaven. Their souls are safe with Him, always!
But those who have wandered and no longer call on God, He is far from them. They are exposed. Nothing seems safe. Their fear is deeper because their salvation isn’t secure. He is making them stop to consider their ways. Every person has to stop to consider their ways and who we’ve always been led to trust.
Trust God, not your government. Governments can’t save. Only God saves, He is the Savior! He is your Savior, but many don’t see God that way. They just don’t, everything else has gotten their attention.
A realignment for this generation must be made. This generation must see. Otherwise “Christian” won’t be related to America anymore. It will just be broken down immoral America. So wake up! Wake up! God loves you so much, too much to allow sin to continue.
What has happened this year has come very swiftly. But I don’t think the Lord would want us to be afraid. Why? Because we are in the shelter of the Almighty. He is our protection and we know that.
This has affected us and our neighborhood. It has also affected our world. Were we ready for it? Are we now? Christians need to be like a light shining very brightly during this time. We are to point the lost to God, to His words of comfort and assure them of His love for them. God is to be their rock, not anything else. Everything else is false. Everything else will fail them. They must see this. God wants us all to truly understand.
Like what was done in the biblical times with the Israelites, I believe God will do with America. We are worshiping other gods. It seems everything else is more important than Him, the Lord our God. Yes, He is a jealous God, because He knows all others will hurt you. We will be weak people if we put our trust in any other. Yet, we have put our trust in false idols. That’s idolatry! We have propped ourselves up with the world’s lies. But we keep walking in our own ways. We need to decide for ourselves. Our very life depends on it. Our country depends on it.
Let’s turn to God now, forsaking all else. Run, run to God! He’s the only shelter through any calamity, any trouble. He longs to be our God, our one and only. Repent, repent oh America, repent from your ways. And He will heal our land. He wants to heal our land.
You may be thinking that this is talking about you. You once did think God was more important than now. You know this is not right but everything else does seem more interesting or more important. But now that world has gone crazy in 2020. You know something is wrong. Could this be it? I think we can all agree this land we call America is deeply divided. We need God to heal our land. But it’s going to take us who have believed in Jesus to do what the verse above says, “Repent.”

Repent: To feel pain, sorrow or regret for something done or spoken;
as, to repent that we have lost much time in idleness or sensual pleasure; to repent that we have injured or wounded the feelings of a friend.
A person repents only of what he himself has done or said.
Bible’s definition and instruction:
So repent (change your mind and purpose);
turn around and return [to God],
that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean),
that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat,
of [a]reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;
Are you ready to repent? God wants to hear from you. He loves you. But He is a jealous God. He knows that trusting in something other than Him will hurt you. Check out this sweet scripture.
“For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate.
He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.”
Dear Jesus, I’m sorry I have run off to do my own thing for so long. Please forgive me. I want to return to you. I want what we had before. Meet me here and show me how to move forward together again. I choose You God over _*idol_____. I’m sorry I have allowed this thing to become more important than You. I repent. I turn away from it and towards you. In Jesus name, Amen.
Friends, the ball is really in our court. We don’t like what we see but I wonder if we are willing to Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Let the Holy Spirit convict your heart and show you where you need to change. What idol(s) need to be brought down in your life? It’s hard. I have been through this process myself this Fall. But it is good.

This is an excellent, timely post.
We, in Canada, are praying for your great Nation, since we are so closely connected to each other.
You clearly point out that as Christians, we have no fear of the future, but we need to be aware that others around us, who do not know the Lord, are possibly overwhelmed with anxiety now.
God, as you clearly said, is a jealous God, because he does not wish us to turn after things that will harm us.
