The other day I really felt led to text a friend and ask her to be a table leader at our Dessert of the Month Club. But when I sat down to text her, I saw she had already texted me, she was having a hard day. She had texted me to ask for prayer. I sent a prayer text back and thought to myself, I can’t ask her now because she’s overwhelmed and having a really hard day. But then I felt Your nudge, Lord, to do it anyway. So with a heavy sigh, I started my text. I was quite surprised when I got an immediate text back saying, “yes, of course.”
Little did I know that God was going to use this instantaneous act of her obedience to join my heart with His will. You see, there is a retreat in the Fall that I’ve already prayed and asked Him if I’m supposed to work. He’s answered and even confirmed His word to me. But I still haven’t committed. I keep looking at this Fall’s activities and I’m afraid of being over committed.
My prayer: Jesus, I’m so afraid of being over committed that I haven’t yet committed to serving during this retreat. How do I get past my fear?
God’s Word to Us: You need to know that all is mine. And if I have asked you to work this retreat (which I have) then I will work in the other areas of your life to allow time for this. Do the important things first, then spend time on the trivial.
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else,
And live righteously,
and he will give you everything you need.
So don’t worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
Matthew 6:33-34
My Heart’s Cry for us is to not be afraid to commit to putting God’s Kingdom first! In other words, to be obedient to His voice. Put obedience in front of our tidy homes, our list of projects and really the things of this world. I’ve worked during these retreats before and guess what, it does get a little nutty! My housework does suffer during the height of preparing for it, but it’s always worth it. It feels so good to see God at work in His women. And I’m so thankful and blessed that He invites me to be a part of it.
Is God asking you to make a commitment today? Pray. Seek God’s will first. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and be obedient. Then He will give you everything you need.

Stepping out in faith gives us opportunity to see God move on our behalf, love on us, protect and provide for us! It’s amazing and absolutely terrifying at times because we can’t see beyond our own “Yes, Lord”.
The other day I needed to run a time sensitive errand but I was running low in my gas budget. I debated briefly in my head if I should go but I felt confirmed . So I grabbed my things thinking, “okay, Lord, I’m trusting in your provision. You know better than I.” As I headed to the car my friend pulled into the drive and asked me if we could do errands together… she would drive!”
I love that God’s provision comes after we say Yes, requiring us to trust in Him first. And I love that He uses huge miracles and small coincidences to show us He cares…. no matter the circumstances, I matter to Him. Praise the Lord, oh lover of my soul!💗
