I am with you always

I struggle feeling close to God sometimes. I get so distracted. Quite frankly, some of the tasks in life don’t make me feel close to God. For example, today, I was ironing some brand new dish towels for ministry. It was quite the stack! When I washed them, they wrinkled. So ironing them seemed like the logical thing to do.  But my natural gifting is not serving. To a servant this would seem like holy work, but that’s not me. I feel close to God in nature or sitting in a quiet environment and praying. Ironing dish towels just felt like being so far away from God even though I was doing it for Him.  You see, that is why we can’t go by our feelings.  Not every moment is going to feel like a glory moment. So we need to remember what is true.  And the truth is that God loves us and is always with us, whatever task we’re doing.

Lord, Please touch my heart. I feel it needs to be touched by you. Revive it again. Bless our relationship. Let us grow again. I don’t want to be numb or distant.  I want to feel you are near. I am just not feeling you right now. I’ve been distracted. Oh Lord, don’t let me be distracted.

God’s Word to us: You know I always do. How you feel has no bearing on how much I do care about you.  It’s just how you feel at the moment. I am here with you when you fall asleep and I’m here with you when you awake again. I plan your future and I see your past. I Am is with you. Know it, trust it, believe it, even when you don’t feel like I am. For I do love you always.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”  Deuteronomy 31:8

My Heart’s Cry is for you believe I Am is with you. That you will know it, trust it, and believe it even when you don’t feel His presence.  You can’t always go by your feelings. You need to believe what is true. His Word is true!

I would encourage you to spend time doing the thing that does make you feel closer to God. Ask yourself, when was the last time I felt close to God? What was I doing?  Maybe it’s time to revisit that. This is seeking God. And guess what the bible tells us? “But from there you will search again for the LORD your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.” Deuteronomy 4:29

Likes and comments are appreciated. I would love to know how you feel close to God? I mentioned for me it’s being in nature and sitting quietly praying. But God has made us all different. Lets help each other by finding more ways to spend time with God. I look forward to your comments here or on Facebook.

I hope this helps somebody out there. God bless you and your weekend.

Your friend,

Kim

  1. Lovely post! It is true. He is always with us. We have to keep our heart set on him!
I feel closest to Him when I am being raw and bare about all of my thoughts and feelings in my prayers to him. I notice a difference in a prayer based on quick necessity and a prayer full of transparency.
