What is my Goal?

What is my goal? That’s how I’m feeling. I am a housewife but I barely fit in everything I need to do in a day. I feel like I lose track of time. Please give me clarity when it comes to what I need to do.  It seems like the back end has been severed because I do and do but still there is no relief or sense of accomplishment. Please fix that part of me.

God’s word to us: Daughter, if you could see your days like I see them you would understand better. You fail to see all the little victories. All heaven is poised waiting for a kind word to be spoken, a caring heart to be shared, a loving look to be noticed and reciprocated. These are the values we look for in each day. This is what’s important. Yes, the dishes need to get done and everyone needs to get fed; but remember the greatest of these is love. So let love be your goal. Your world will slow down and you will enjoy it so much more.

“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.  And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” Colossians 3:12-15

When I am task oriented, rather than relationship oriented, I forget to treat my loved ones with kindness, gentleness and patience. If someone is having an off day and not keeping to the schedule, we are all in trouble because then my attitude is affected. In these times I need to be flexible, give grace, and clothe myself in love which binds us all together in perfectly harmony.

My Heart’s Cry is for us to see our days the way He created them – as opportunities to love. Our values need line up with God’s values, with love as our goal.

  1. I listened to a podcast this past week and at one point this was said, paraphrasing: How we measure the success of our days is not how much I get done, but how I have treated people.
I am working on learning and believing that myself, sister. Thanks for your thoughts on it!
