Grey Days

Today was just a grey day. Lord, I’ve been having more of these lately. One of the reasons is I’ve misplaced my credit card. I’ve checked the bank, thankfully there were no new charges. The card is on hold so I’m not worried about someone charging on it.  But a new card number means a big hassle because of some bills are linked to it.  This is just one thing that has clouded my day.  Other things though that would normally make me happy didn’t like I got a haircut and my daughter and I finished reading together the book On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Sadly, I just feel like I’m going through the motions until life can start again.

God’s word to us: My daughter, you will have days like this where everything seems blah. It’s not the end though.  Really it’s the beginning of something new I want to do in your life.  You see a seed needs to go into a dark place and be hidden for a while. Something is hiding in your heart and there it must stay dormant until change is needed.  Then the watering and growing process will begin.  But for now be thankful that the seed is there waiting.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9

My Hearts Cry is for you to remember that even in the grey days know God has something hidden that’s very good.  Sometimes we have to go through these times where life seems unexciting and even a little depressing.  But as this verse says, “Let’s not get tired of doing good.” That seems pretty important in these grey days. And remember we need to be fertile ground so when that seed does start to put down roots and then shoot up it’s leaves it will grow well.  Spending time with God in prayer helps you to be healthy soil. Also listening to podcast of sermons and reading the bible can make you ready for any change God brings in your life.  This is how I’m spending part of my grey days and it has helped.

Comment on what gets you through your grey days.  I’d love to hear them!!
