No Words Required

You know my thoughts and actions. I’m so glad I don’t have to explain them to you. If I were in a talking mood, you would gladly listen. Today, I’m just not. Know my heart loves you. I just want to be close to you. That is my heart.

God’s word to us: Sometimes I listen to your words but I am always listening to your heart. This is what your heart is saying to me this day. “I’m tired and I need rest. But above all that I love you and just want to be alone with you right now.” I accept that beautiful message from your heart. I remember how draining it was working with people. So I too left the people for a while to be with my father. Let’s spend this time just being together. No words required.

Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Mark 1:35

My Heart’s Cry for you is to be thankful that God is always listening to our hearts. We don’t always have to speak and have a long prayer. He understands what it is like to need some time alone with Father God because Jesus did just that when he was here walking the earth. I don’t think I’d be far off if I said that some of that praying time was quiet rest.

I would encourage you to spend time being quiet in God’s presence. If your mind wanders to worries, then remind yourself God’s already taking care of it. It is okay to rest in His presence. Remember He leads you by still waters. Drink deep of the rest and care that God longs for you to have in Him. No words required.

Share with us your experience of quiet rest with Him.
