Commitments

I feel like a faithless fool .  Why do I always freak out before fulfilling commitments that I thought were a good idea when I made them?  I have many commitments like homeschooling, teaching a sewing class and working a woman’s retreat. Some weeks I’m fine other weeks I feel like it’s just too much. But now that the retreat is here I feel I have pushed my limits. I’m having a hard time moving forward.  Lord, please give me wisdom when I’m making commitments and the courage to follow through.  I am not worth much without you.

God’s word to us: In this moment daughter, I want you to remember that all things work together for good with my followers.  I lead you each day and each moment of the day. So, take courage! I have overcome the world. You will get the courage you need at the right moment.  For now, I just ask you to obey.  Walk out those steps you know you should be taking by preparing for each commitment.  I am with you. I am always with you!

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. II Corinthians 9:8

My Heart’s Cry for you is for you to know God is leading you each day. You can count on him to give you courage at just the right moment. He is with you, giving you what you need for every good work.

Have you had commitments that when it was the time to fulfill them you went uh-oh how am I going to do this? I have more often than I’m willing to admit.  Does it relieve you knowing that God will give you the courage at the right moment? What about his instructions to just obey and prepare for your commitment. Will you follow through with that?  Comment below and tell me how II Corinthians 9:8 can change your perspective. What are some practical things you can do to prepare for what God’s calling you to do?

  1. Thank you Kim for sharing your heart about commitments. I too get stressed over commitments I have made. Sometimes it is because I have over committed myself. I am very thankful for God’s grace and empowerment to see me through each commitment to its end.

  2. I could write a book on this subject. I struggle with commitment, mostly because of the next blog title, feeling Overwhelmed.

    1. I am so thankful God wants to hear our hearts when we are feeling we can’t keep to our commitments and feeling overwhelmed. He is a breath prayer away. And loves to help when we ask.
